The Hua Xian Chinese Society are the organisers of the Lancaster’s Chinese (or Lunar) New Year celebrations – an annual celebration of Chinese culture and platform for artists in the arts, music and theatre.
Its biggest event is the Lancaster Chinese New Year Carnival which brings together street markets, funfair rides, live entertainment, music, dance and martial arts into the centre of the city with the stage in Market Square and a parade that winds its way around Lancaster’s high streets along Penny Street, Church Street and New Street.
