Chinese New Year Carnival

Lancaster is set for the biggest celebrations to date with two stages of live performances before the Chinese New Year Parade.

The Lebara Mobile Stage in Market Square will features some of the biggest performances with 24 Festival Drums, followed by the colourful Northern Dragons lion Dance, Hung gar lion Dance and Blackpool Qilin team. lancaster’s own Batala Samba drum team will also be there.

At the St Nicholas Arcades Stage liverpool’s Pagoda Arts will be showcasing their Chinese Youth Orchestra alongside Chinese Fan Dancing and taichi performances.

The parade featuring all the perfomances, even more colourful costumes and the lantern Dragon will then start at 2pm on Penny Street at the top of lancaster making its way through the town and finishing in Market Square.
